Well, I received the FIRST PLACE Award in the "alternative" category tonight. This was a juried competition, and I got TWO pieces in.

BLAST from my PAST - The Pacifcia Backyard Garden

Here are a few images of my backyard garden in Pacifica, California, just south of San Francisco, on the Pacific Ocean. It was controlled chaos - I wanted color, variety and a fairyland feel. I brought in every plant, flower and container. These flowers and plants also served as my muse - and many a fine art photograph was made here. Hummingbirds, Big Open Blue Sky, The Ocean A Few Blocks Away and High Walls - it was my secret garden.

Springtime - Birds, Seeds and Squirrels, oh my!

Oh my, I must say all this warm sun and air is taking me by surprise....especially after living near the Pacific Ocean, just south of San Francisco for 23 years. It's most pleasant and welcoming!  Daffodils are blooming that I planted in November and other misc. greenery is popping up everywhere. It's big fun having a big, green backyard (buffer zone from neighbors) full of song birds and trained squirrels. Today, after  talking with my dear friend ARDY, Buz (the backyard squirrel) took walnuts from my fingers. (I know it's dangerous, I should wear gloves)
